1963
The Yellow River 350 tipper truck was successfully developed.
1985
The first Steyr truck produced locally in China rolled off the line.
2002
In August, the largest HDT axle production base in China was built. In October, Steyr King HDT was launched on the basis of Steyr HDT, thus making new breakthroughs in Steyr products.
2003
In June, SINOTRUK signed a contract with Volvo on the heavy truck JV; In July, the JV was established.
2004
In October, HOWO heavy truck rolled off the line, helping the domestic heavy truck technology climb to a new level. At present, HOWO truck has become the largest single brand sales model in China’s heavy truck industry.
2006
The SINOTRUK heavy truck engine production line, which takes the leading position in the world, was put into operation.
2007
SINOTRUK is listed on the main board of Hong Kong Stock Market in the form of red chips, in the capacity of SINOTRUK (Hong Kong) Limited, marking the start of SINOTRUK getting into the international capital market.
2008
HOWO A7 was launched. It stood at the forefront of technology in China, featuring low-speed engine with high torque, AMT, rear axle with small ratio, low air resistance cab and lightweight design.
2009
SINOTRUK signed a strategic cooperation agreement with MAN, to introduce advanced technologies of cab, engine, axle and chassis.
2010
SINOTRUK launched light truck products to expand family spectrum. In 2020, it sold more than 170,000 light trucks.
2012
SINOTRUK launched MC engine series, whose power ranges from 140 to 560 HP. MC engine series are localized engines after introducing the engine technology from MAN.
2013
Joint brand SITRAK with MAN was launched and made the market success.
2015
China’s only “National Research Center for HDT Engineering and Technology” was completed and SINOTRUK officially moved its HQ into SINOTRUK Technology Building.
2016
SINOTRUK first generation smart truck was launched, which was equipped with advanced driving assistance systems such as EBS, ESC, AEBS, ACC, LDWS and HAS.
2018
The world’s first unmanned electric truck, which was manufactured by SINOTRUK, was put into trial operation in Tianjin Port. The HOWO-T5G, equipped with Beidou Positioning System, laser radar, millimeter wave radar, camera and other apparatuses, can drive 120km at full load with charging time less than one hour.
2020
SINOTRUK launched the new-generation HDT brand Yellow River. Equipped with low wind resistance trailers, the wind resistance coefficient (Cd) of the model reaches 0.37, 30% lower than the mainstream products in the industry, far ahead of trucks sold at home and abroad. At the same time, the trunk logistics tractor of the Yellow River has Level 2 intelligent driving. The Level 3 unmanned system interface is reserved, which can meet the needs of Level 3 unmanned driving function expansion in the future.
